Dr Andreja Bogdanovski is a Skopje-born, Edinburgh-based freelance journalist and Orthodox Church analyst, specialising in Orthodox affairs.
He is a reporter for the UK's leading Christian publications: The Tablet and Church Times.
Much of his reporting is focused on the religious dimension of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, including Vatican diplomacy in peace efforts, alongside broader Orthodox and Catholic developments in Eastern Europe, Russia, the Middle East, and the Balkans.
His work regularly appears in Balkan Insight, Premier Christianity, and The Kyiv Post, where he is an op-ed contributor, frequently writing about the Russian Orthodox Church in global politics.
Andreja Bogdanovski is also the founder of FirstMemoir, a boutique memoir-writing service based in Northumberland. Through a personal, interview-led process he helps individuals and families turn their memories and life experiences into beautifully written and professionally produced books. Dr Bogdanovski works with memoir clients across Northumberland and the Scottish Borders (including Edinburgh and Newcastle), as well as throughout the UK by telephone and video.
He holds a PhD from the University of Buckingham (Religion and Politics) and a Master’s degree from King’s College London (International Peace and Security - War Studies department).
Andreja provides independent analysis and briefings for consultancies, international organisations, and policy-facing institutions on religion and geopolitics, turning complex, hard-to-track developments into actionable insights.
He previously worked as a Research Fellow at the Skopje-based think tank Analytica, focusing on security issues affecting the stability of the Western Balkans.
He publishes Divine Diplomacy, a Substack newsletter on church geopolitics:
